One of the most talented, visionary and enduring talent, Javed Bashir’s approach made Qavvali, classical melodies and everything else in-between, just a lot more edgy and accessible whilst staying composed and effortless in style. Despite singing from his childhood, it wasn’t until the early 90s when his formal training in Qavvali and eastern classical vocals began. As a band member at the time, Bashir contributed his pitch perfect vocals to Mekaal Hasan Band’s, ‘Sampooran’ (2004) before parting ways and pursuing a solo career.

An instantly recognizable sound, Bashir has worked with top producers on albums as well as film scores and collaborated with some of the finest music acts of the time. After proving his genius in Season 2 and 7, Javed Bashir re-emerges on Coke Studio, Season 9 with a remarkably sophisticated and fluid soul sound that will remain timeless and unforgettable.
